***You must be rooted and have at least 80% battery life before you begin***
So some of you may be wondering why it is that you would want to return your Verizon Galaxy S3 back to stock factory settings. Well the reason you would want to return your Galaxy S3 back to stock may be because you want to get rid of root on your phone, you want to return your phone back to the store and want to erase any evidence, or you simply messed up. At any rate this is a very simple method to do and in about 15 minutes tops you should have restored your Galaxy S3 back to stock. To start off with you are probably going to want to have the files that are located at the end of this post. Go ahead and download the files you will need, which is a total of two.
To start off with you are going to need to go into setting and then click on “developer options” on your phone. After you have done that you will need to click on where it says usb debugging and unknown sources. Make sure the boxes for both of these are checked.
Turn your phone off and once your phone is completely off you are going to go into download mode. To get into download mode you are going to press and hold the volume down, home, and power button at the same time. Once you see the new screen it will say to press volume up to continue or volume down to cancel. You are going to press the volume up button so that you can continue on to download mode.
Once you are in download mode go ahead connect the micro usb button to your phone and the other end of the cord should be connected to your computer. As soon as you connect it to your computer the usb drivers for your phone should have downloaded. If they didn’t or if your computer is having a hard time detecting your phone go ahead and install them manually. Simply go on a search engine such as google and then search for “Galaxy S3 usb drivers.”
Open up the ODIN program and check the box that says, “PDA” and then click on the rectangular box that says “PDA” and look for the stock image file of the Galaxy S 3 and click on it. Before you click on start make sure that the boxes of where it says, “F. Reset Time” and “Auto Reboot” are checked. Then when it says, “Added!!” in the message box to the left go ahead and click “start.”
Once you have clicked on start all you have to do is sit back, relax, and wait a few minutes. The phone will reboot and you’ll be back on stock. If the superuser app is still there it might be a good idea if you do a factory data reset so that the phone is back to the way it was when you took it out of the box. That is of course if you don’t mind deleting everything from the phone such as contacts, apps, and messages.
Since you are now finished you can go ahead and remove the micro usb cable from the phone and your computer.
