This is the method to use if you are looking to install the latest Jellybean build onto your Samsung Galaxy S III from Verizon wireless. Please only use this method if the phone you have is the Verizon wireless version of the Samsung Galaxy S III. This method will maintain your root permissions and will also maintain your custom recovery. The only thing it won’t preserve are your contacts, which you can restore as soon as you log back onto your gmail account, and your apps which can be restored if you use titanium backup to backup your apps. Ok so let’s get started on what steps you need to take to accomplish this.
Step 1: You will need to download all three files. They are the leak Jellybean files, the Modem files, and the RPM file. Scroll down and you will find them. Click on where it says, click here and it will take you to the site where the files will download automatically. I suggest that you put your files somewhere easy to access like on your desktop.
Step 2: Copy all the files you downloaded onto your computer to the Download directory of your internal SD card of your phone.
Step 3: Power off your phone and wait for all lights to be off. After your phone is completely off you will need to power back into your custom recovery. To power into recovery you will need to press the power button + volume up button + home button at the same time. As soon as you feel your phone rumble let go of the power button but continue to hold the home button and the volume up button at the same time. This will take you to your custom recovery. CWM recovery will work just fine, however it is recommended that you use TWRP recovery instead. If you don’t have TWRP recovery it is not a big deal and you may continue.
Step 4: Once in recovery make sure you do a factory data reset. Then wipe cache, scroll down to advance and wipe dalvik cache.
Step 5: Install zip from SD card and then choose zip from SD card. Scroll to the directory where the files are at and then install them one by one. Install the Jellybean leak followed by the modem and rpm files.
Step 6: Go back and reboot your phone. The initial bootup will probably take a little bit longer than usual. Don’t freak out if it does. You will then have to go through the setup wizard if you want or you can press the home button and bypass the setup wizard. You will have to log into your gmail and social media accounts on your own if you bypass the setup wizard.
After you complete all these steps you will have the newest leaked Jellybean build on your Samsung Galaxy S III from Verizon wireless. I hope this guide was useful and if you would like to stay tuned to more Galaxy S III content make sure you subscribe to my Youtube channel.
